Paw Prints - Gridiron

The rankings are out for the week and UConn didn’t pick up any ground in the BCS poll (13th) or the USA Today Poll (16th). They did move up from 20th to 16th in the AP Poll. The full rankings will be after the jump.

With representatives of the Sugar Bowl at the game on Saturday night, we should start looking at where the Huskies could possibly be sent. Besides the BCS bid which goes to the winner of the conference championship, the Big East has ties with the following bowls:

  • PAPA JOHNS.COM BOWL (BIG EAST #5 vs. CUSA)
  • MEINEKE CAR CARE BOWL (BIG EAST #3 vs. ACC)
  • SUN BOWL (BIG EAST#2-or-Big 12 vs. Pac-10)
  • GATOR BOWL (BIG EAST#2 -or- Big 12 vs. ACC)
  • INTERNATIONAL BOWL (BIG EAST #4 vs. MAC)

This is how the Big East Conference standings look right now. UConn controls their own destiny as far as the BCS goes. If they win out, they will receive the Big East’s BCS bid. If they don’t win the Big East, they will go to one of the above bowls corresponding to their finish in the Big East.

The first video is UConn being talked about ESPN’s College Football Gameday. The second video is the highlights of the win over Rutgers. It’s not the best but once Jared Ness posts his, I will switch them.
