Le Anne Schreiber? We Salute You!

Once again, ESPN Ombudsman Le Anne Schreiber has done some fantastic work in critiquing the Alleged Worldwide Leader in her latest column.

This month, she goes after the rush to judgment especially ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd in the coverage of the Sean Taylor story.

In addition, she reviews the coverage of the Barry Bonds indictments when they first broke, particularly the SportsCenter special which had little to no news.

Schreiber also criticizes the family of networks for the Les Miles story in which College Gameday’s Kirk Herbstreit ran with a story based on only one source.

I felt George Solomon did good work as the ESPN Ombudsman and was worried that the position would go unfilled when his 2 year term ended earlier this year, but Schreiber has not only picked up the pieces, she’s called out the Worldwide Leader for several missteps. For this, I give her total credit.

Not only has she called out ESPN personalities, producers, reporters and writers, she’s interviewed them for her columns to get further clarification. For us the reader, it’s been a pleasure and I look forward each month to your columns.

Ms. Schreiber, the blogosphere salutes you!
