Everyone is always wondering who will UConn play in football besides the Big East teams. Chip Malafronte from the New Haven Register provides this list for the upcoming seasons.

Sept. 6: at Temple Sept. 12: North Carolina   Sept. 17: Iowa State
Sept. 13: Virginia Sept. 19: at Baylor Sept. 11: Northeastern TBA: at Northwestern
Sept. 20: Baylor   Sept. 18: at Temple

Sept. 8: North Carolina State Sept. 7: Maryland
Sept. 15: at Maryland Sept. 21: at Iowa
  Sept. 28: Temple
TBA: Buffalo TBA: at Buffalo

I can only assume that the years with less than 5 games scheduled will be filled since UConn plays a 7-game Big East schedule and teams are allowed to play 12 games a season. Notre Dame could also be a possibility down the road as the two schools have been negotiating a deal.

The 2011 season schedule brings a SEC team, a Big 12 team and a Big 10 team although they aren’t the top tier teams of their respective conferences. However, they all are members of the BCS which will look good for the BCS standings in four years. Nothing like looking ahead. In case you were wondering, the freshmen who are red-shirted this year will be 5th year seniors that season.

UConn announced today that they have sold just over 12,000 tickets for the Meineke Car Care Bowl, leaving themselves about 500 tickets short of their goal right now. They do expect to sell out their remaining allotment of tickets.

Be sure to head over to Chip’s blog, Ramblings from the Runway, as he has notes from today’s practice in which Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell visited the team.
