Don’t forget to tune into the 2008 Hula Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, HI at 6 PM tonight on Versus to catch UConn football players Donald Thomas and Tyvon Branch participate in the game. If you want to know what channel Versus is on your cable system or satellite dish, click here.
Steve brought up a good point in a recent email exchange that I should include the names of the other Big East Conference football players participating in the game so here goes:
- Anthony Hoke – Defensive End – Cincinnati
- Haruki Nakamura – Free Safety – Cincinnati
- Digger Bujnoch – Tackle – Cincinnati
- Angelo Craig – Defensive End – Cincinnati
- Kennard Cox – Corner Back – Pittsburgh
- Darrell Strong – Tight End – Pittsburgh
- Art Carmody – Kicker – Louisville
- Breno Giacomini – Tackle – Louisville
- Joe Fields – Free Safety – Syracuse
Even the local college here in the New Haven area, the Yale Bulldogs, has a representative in defensive tackle Brandt Hollander.
Speaking of postseason collegiate all-star games, UConn’s Danny Lansanah has been picked to participate in the second annual Texas Vs. The Nation Collegiate All-Star Bowl on February 7th at 5:00 PM. The game will be played at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, TX and will be shown live on CSTV. Lansanah’s coach will be Buddy Ryan. Yes that Buddy Ryan of the ’85 Chicago Bears fame.
