Our Second Nominee for the Fang’s Bites NCAA Tournament Broadcasting Awards

CSTV’s Carter Blackburn would have to be our second nominee when I do the Fang’s Bites NCAA Tournament Broadcasting Awards. But he would go under the Best Debut category. He’s done quite well. He’s allowed analyst Jay Bilas to talk and he’s even challenged him once or twice.

Nice job, Carter. If CBS uses him to work the first two rounds next season in place of Craig Bolerjack, I would not object at all.

Thus far in the first two games, Craig Bolerjack has been awful. Gus Johnson has been subdued because he has not had much action to call, both games he has called have been blowouts. And the same goes for Kevin Harlan whose two games in the Omaha subregional have been walkovers.

CBS has not had much luck today. Only two games, Xavier-Georgia and Kentucky-Marquette have been relatively close. The other five games have been blowouts. Hopefully that will change in the night session.
