Papi Sprains Left Wrist

Amidst the celebration of Manny’s 500th home run, his sidekick David Ortiz left the game with a wrist injury:

Sox slugger David Ortiz left last night’s game in the ninth inning after feeling pain in his left wrist on a swing in which he fouled a ball down the left-field line on a full count. Ortiz’s at-bat was finished by Sean Casey, who fouled off two pitches before flying to left.
Kevin Youkilis has shown he can step into the 3 or 4 hole and get the job done, and luckily this doesn’t appear to be a situation where the disabled list may be possible. Terry Francona says the wrist is tender and he’ll probably take Sunday and Monday off, hoping to return to action when the Red Sox finally return home.
