Breathe a sigh of relief, Buckeye fans. Beanie Wells is going to be fine. Jim Tressel isn’t giving any details, but he also left open the possibility that Wells might be inserted into this Saturday’s home game against Ohio University.
The Buckeyes are favored to win the game by 35 points, and Wells isn’t really needed. But playing him might change how USC practices for their game against Ohio State one week later. USC is off this weekend and will have every player glued to game film watching how the Bucks line up with and without Beanie.
Tressel is being slightly coy about what will happen;
“Tell them to worry about Gustav and Rita and those kinds of things,” Tressel said Tuesday. “Beanie’s going to be fine.”
I love it, coach. You always were the master at every aspect of the game. Mess with their heads in SoCal.
And while I’m sure a lot of us are concerned about Gustav and the potential damage it could do to the Gulf Coast, I’m still not sure why he wants us to worry about Rita. What, did she find another fake animal print to wear in public?
