Three press releases hit my inbox this morning. I figured I would provide them here for you.
First, HBO will air a special Costas Now featuring Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. This interview took place after the Baseball town hall aired live on July 16.
SPECIAL EDITION OF HBO SPORTS’ COSTAS NOW, DEBUTING SEPT. 30,
SPOTLIGHTS BASEBALL ICONS HANK AARON AND WILLIE MAYS
Joined by two baseball legends, Bob Costas hosts an hour-long special edition of his Emmy®-winning HBO Sports show when COSTAS NOW WITH AARON & MAYS debuts TUESDAY, SEPT. 30 (9:00 p.m. ET/PT & 8:00 p.m. CT), exclusively on HBO. Ross Greenburg and Rick Bernstein serve as executive producers of the show, which draws on the talents of HBO Sports’ Peabody- and Emmy®-winning production department.
More than 30 years after the end of their careers, Hall of Famers Hank Aaron – “Hammerin’ Hank” in uniform No. 44 – and Willie Mays – “The Say Hey Kid” with the No. 24 jersey – remain among the most beloved and respected players in baseball history. When the Alabama natives appeared together on the July 16 town hall edition of COSTAS NOW devoted to baseball, their segment was riveting. Once the TV interview ended, the pair remained onstage another 40 minutes with Costas for an hbo.com webcast. In the hour-long special drawn from that night – the majority of which has not previously been seen on the network – the two icons revisit a host of memorable moments from their extraordinary lives and express their enduring admiration for each other.
TBS will air Mets-Marlins on Sunday. That game could decide the National League East division, weather permitting.
