A few days ago, I published a story about the frequent bashing of Ohio State’s schedule. Towards the end, I made an effort to direct sportswriters’ ire towards fellow Big Ten school, Penn State.
I still stand 100% behind my words in regards to Ohio State’s schedule, but I must take this time now to re-examine Penn State’s win over Oregon State, following last night’s shocking Beaver win over USC.
I’m still not convinced that Oregon State is that good of a team, but they did something that Ohio State could not do. That takes talent and drive, and Oregon State pulled it together for last night’s game. I’ve gotta give them credit for it, and in doing so I must also extend a tip of the hat to Penn State for walloping Oregon State.
We could get into the ifs and buts, and how Oregon State certainly is an easier opponent in Happy Valley than they are at home, blah blah blah, but let’s just leave it at that and say congrats.
And let’s be happy because today I can wear my Ohio State jersey to Disneyland and not have USC fans primp and preen like they did yesterday!
