Ohio State went into today’s game facing some serious trouble. A motivated, determined MSU squad with a Heisman candidate at RB. A 6-game win streak. The chance to win the Big Ten on the line. Facing a Buckeye team with serious questions and a rookie at QB.
None of it mattered. Ohio State straight-up cleaned Michigan State’s clock and showed the world that they are still the best team in the Big Ten.
We moved the ball when we wanted to, we shut down MSU when we needed to, and we took the ball away whenever we felt like it.
The biggest stats;
- LeBron in Cleats – 7/11, 116 yards, 1 TD, also 12 rushes for 72 yards and a TD
- Beanie Wells – 31 carries, 140 yards, 2 TD
- Defense – 2 TDs on fumble returns
- No turnovers (2nd straight week) vs 5 forced TOs
Hell, Thaddeus Maximus had more yards on his one fumble return/TD (69) than Javon Ringer had on the ground all day (67).
Today, we effectivively reinvigorated our offense and answered a LOT of questions, and we also eliminated any chance that Ringer had for the Heisman.
And while Penn State is still struggling to beat Michigan, next week’s game is looking even more interesting than I thought it possibly could. I think the Lions got caught overlooking the Wolverines and it nearly bit them in the ass. They’ll still win, but the score should embarrass PSU faithful….the best team Penn State has had in decades was losing to the worst team Michigan has had in decades.
