The AP All American team was released this afternoon. It was headlined by Cincinnati’s Sean Kilpatrick. Killa was joined by Shabazz Napier and Russ Smith of UConn and Louisville respectively, as well as Creighton senior Doug McDermott and Duke’s Jabari Parker. Parker is the only freshman, hell, the only underclassman on the list.
Kilpatrick, Smith and Napier are the first trio from a league to make the AP All American team since 2001, when it was peak era Duke and Juan Dixon time at Maryland and all those UNC players.
Congratulations to Sean Kilpatrick. From a guy who came off the bench to a guy who was a solid starter to a guy who was a key cog to the man. His career blossomed like some of the Cincinnati greats. What an accomplishment.
Doug McDermott finishes his career as a 3 time first team AA. That’s pretty amazing.
