“It’s a physical injury, but it’s also mental,” Hayden said. “You’ve got to get it out of your head that, ‘If I open up full speed it can recur.’ It’s something that I’m going to have to maintenance all year, but I think I’m ready for that because last year I had almost the same thing with the knee injury. I had to stay on top of that. Hopefully, it won’t be a nagging injury that nags me all year, but if it does, I think I’m ready for it.
“Most of the time it gives you a warning. I just want to prepare myself and hopefully it’s something that won’t break down on me. I just want to continue to prepare like I usually do and give a little more attention to the hamstring.”
