Phil B. Wilson has a nice set of notes today
* Value drop — The Star had a staff report online today referring to the latest Forbes magazine annual list for NFL franchise values. The Colts were one of eight to drop in the past year, down 5 percent to $1.025 billion. That ranks 15th out of 32 teams. The other teams to drop were Miami, Seattle, St. Louis, Detroit, Jacksonville, Atlanta and Oakland. The magazine reports this is the first time in a decade that any team has dropped in value. Dallas, for the third straight year, is No. 1 at $1.65 billion. Next in line are Washington at $1.55 billion, New England $1.36 billion, New York Giants $1.18 billion and New York Jets $1.17 billion. Not that anybody should be too worried about the stability of the Colts franchise, since we’re still talking a billion bucks for owner Jim Irsay. And the Colts still have a season ticket waiting list, I was told, at about 15 percent as of earlier in the summer.
