Did You See What You Wanted To See? – Indiana edition

How did we do????

Jeff at The BBC

LOTS of gray in the stands (Mali agrees with me on this one) – We saw a little bit of gray, but what we DIDN’T see was an overhead shot filled with red.  That was technically what we were shooting for.

100 yards from any one of our RBs – Thank you, Brandon Saine!  113 yards on a mere 17 carries got us our first 100-yard RB of the season, and has upped the ante for this week when Boom Herron retakes his starting job.  Come on, Boom!  Top that for us!

At least a 3 touchdown victory – Initially, I wanted a 21-point win to calm down the overhyped Michigan fans.  They calmed down 3 hours before we even kicked off (thanks Little Brother), but our 19-point win was easily enough to show them they’re not ready for prime time yet.

Another shutout – I wanted it too, Mali.  But with our secondary shortage, I wasn’t expecting it.

Yardage? What yardage? – After watching IU gain a total of 467 yards against Michigan, we needed to step up and see a defensive stand.  We did, allowing only 224 yards.  Less than half of what the LOLverines allowed gives us a big win here.

TPTD – He got it on a QB sneak, and he added three more through the air.  Nice job, Terrelle.

FBTD – I thought Mali was crazy when he asked for this.  But damn, it was a hell of a request.  Boren gets the TD on a PASS, no less!

Do I need to say it? – Only one false start this week, but that’s still not a success.  Get that to zero against Wisky, please?

Jim

Continued improvement from the offensive line – Jim is the wonk when it comes to the players in the trenches, but I know what I know…these guys are getting better with each game.  We’ll ask him for his opinion when he updates his latest “position post”.

Continued dominance (and improvement, if that is even possible) from the defensive line – Oh, yeah.  I don’t need to know much about the trenches to see the success story here.  Holding Indiana to 0.7 yards per carry is enough evidence for me.  Plus, ANOTHER interception from a lineman???

Continued improvement from Pryor – I might get some disagreement from my fellow Buckeye fans, but I think this might have been Pryor’s best game of the year.  He didn’t throw the ball just to throw it, he has learned when to tuck it and run, and my favorite stat of the day – Pryor had completions to EIGHT different players on the day.

Eric

The obvious one – another shutout! -If that was our biggest failure of the week, then our lives aren’t so bad after all.

200 yards or more on the ground for the Buckeyes – 219 on the day, and it could have been 300 or more.  Indiana just didn’t have anything to slow us down.

Continued D-Line dominance – See above.

Now it’s up to our Buckeyes from here on out.  If we win on Saturday against Wisconsin, we hold sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.  Plus, beating a 5-0 team SHOULD get us some poll respect, but with guys like Doug Les Miserables holding a vote, you never know.
