Did You See What You Wanted To See? – Wisconsin edition

I know my wishes came true…what about the rest of you?

MaliBuckeye

Stalwart D – Success!  We shut them down time and time again.  They had 89 plays on the field, and their offense scored zero points.  That’s unheard of.

INT Time – Success!  Hell, Ohio State scored two TDs while Tolzien was on the field, while his own team scored none.

Healthy OL –
Healthy?  Not quite, but they loked MUCH better than we thought they would with all the flu rumors.

TP Acceleration –
His runs and acceleration did look good.  But we didn’t do enough with our offense to truly give a thumbs-up in this category.

Special Teams Win – Ray-Ray learns that they’ve changed the wallpaper in the two years since he was moved into the doghouse.  As a matter of fact, Small and his special-teams TD was the dagger in Wisky’s back.

Home Field Advantage –
From the first drive, the crowd was whipped up, and there were plenty of plays that kept them in the screaming spirit.  Give yourselves a pat on the back, ticket-holders.

Oh, yeah –
No false start penalties – We had one.  Dammit.

Jim

Shut down Wisconsin’s run game – 2.7 yards per carry?  Yeah, that’s a total success.

Shut down Wisconsin’s passing game – 5.6 yards per pass attaempt?  Yeah, that’s a total success.  Especially when you consider the fact that OUR passing average was higher.  And our passing sucked.

Pryor continuing to develop – Outside of one drive in which he looked like a Heisman winner, this one was a big fail.

Eric

John Clay contained to less than 100 yards –  Does 59 count?  HELL YES!

D-Line get pressure on Tolzien – Massive success!  That pressure forced 6 sacks and two pick-sixes.

The two-parter: Turnovers:

No Buckeye Turnovers –  Fail, and it was u-g-l-y.  Pryor never looked off his WR and the defense honed in on it.

At least 3 Wisky Turnovers –  Fail, but the 2 turnovers we got resulted in more points than the entire Wisconsin offense!

—————

Coming into the game, Wisconsin was the Big Ten’s leader in scoring.

Not any more…..that’s how good our D is this year.
