Lacey, an undrafted rookie free agent, has been fined $10,000 for an end-zone celebration following a 35-yard interception return for his first NFL touchdown in a victory at St. Louis this past Sunday, an NFL spokesman told the Indianapolis Star Friday.
Lacey. who played collegiately at Oklahoma State, was penalized 15 yards for an illegal demonstration for the play, which came with a minute remaining in the third quarter of the Colts’ 42-6 victory over the Rams. Lacey intercepted a pass from Rams QB Marc Bulger, returned it 35 yards, then upon reaching the end zone executed what Colts President Bill Polian the following night on his weekly radio show called a “beautfiul pop-up” slide.
