The Cluster of Suck

The "glorious" state of Michisuck.
The "glorious" state of Michisuck.

Worth noting at the conclusion of the weekend was precisely how bad it was for the entire state of M*ch*g*n.

  • M*ch*g*n loses to Illinois 38-13.
  • M*ch*g*n State loses to Minnesota 42-34.
  • Western M*ch*g*n falls to Kent State (yes, that Kent State) 26-14.
  • Central M*ch*g*n gets hammered by Boston College 31-10.
  • Arkansas whacks Eastern M*ch*g*n 63-27.
  • The Saint Louis Rams, 0-7 coming into the game, defeat the hapless 1-5 Detroit Lions 17-10.

Every single football team of merit (Division 1-A/NFL) lost, most if not all in embarrassing fashion.  M*ch*g*n lost to Illinois, need we say more?  Michigan State spotted Minnesota 14 points in the first 2 minutes of the game, and was unable to seal the victory despite Minnesota committing a school record 17 penalties for 157 yards (that’s more than either team managed rushing on the day)!  Western blew it to Kent State, Central got embarrassed by an okay BC team, Eastern got embarrassed by a slightly less than okay Arkansas team, and the Lions reclaimed their position as first of the worst.

Keep up the great work teams of M*ch*g*n, we’re all proud of you!

UPDATE from Jeff at The BBC –

MGoBlog has a post up just now, in which Brian spends the entire post comparing the last month of Wolverine football to Morrissey lyrics.

Friends, I know the music of Morrissey (and the Smiths, which launched the aforementioned singer’s career). When you’re quoting his music to look for meaning of your life, you’re fucking suicidal.

Brian, if you’re feeling that blue about life (pun intended), let us give you a hand. Watch this and see if you’re feeling a connection to our friend Adam here….
