Via Kuharksy, the 43 yard PI call on Sunday was a bad call
Reeves’ left hand makes contact with Garcon’s right arm as they are running past the Texans 25 yard line. Both players are looking up at the ball which at that point was at least six feet over their heads. The ball hits at the 14 as a flag comes flying into the picture.
The officials gave the Colts the ball, 1st and 10 at the Texans 19 yard line. Eight plays later, the Colts closed the gap to 20-14.
“It’s a hard one to swallow (if you’re the Texans) because it’s a 43 yard penalty and it’s not a good call,” said Pereira.
None of that helps now, but it’s good to see them admit an officiating mistake now and then.
“I see what (the official) was calling because you do get a bit of an inside arm grab here,” said Pereira as he was reviewing the play. “But the defender has (good) position and it’s not a call that we would want to make.”
