It was a bad day for the special teams
Among other things, Schatz’s article tries to explain why the Colts are so low (dropped to fourth). I’d say, maybe the “D” in DVOA needs some fixing. The top three teams ahead of Indy, they’ve played schedules ranking 29th, 28th, and 32nd. Indy’s ranks 13th. Maybe FO needs to look at the opponent adjustments this season to account for just how bad some of the worst teams are.
