CBS Sports Weekend Coverage

Let’s put together what CBS is airing this weekend. Not bad for not having the NFL this weekend. First, here are the college basketball games you’ll see Saturday and Sunday.

CBS SPORTS’ COLLEGE BASKETBALL FEATURES  ACC AND BIG TEN SHOWDOWNS MARYLAND vs. NO. 8-RANKED DUKE AND NO. 13-RANKED OHIO STATE vs. ILLINOIS

CBS Sports’ college basketball schedule continues with national broadcasts on Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14 (1:00-3:00 PM, ET, both days). Saturday’s broadcast features an ACC match-up as Maryland takes on *No. 8-ranked Duke. On Sunday, *No. 13-ranked Ohio State plays Illinois in a Big Ten battle.

Verne Lundquist joins CBS Sports’ lead college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg to call the action from Cameron Indoor Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. for the Maryland-Duke game.  Bob Dekas, CBS Sports’ coordinating producer for college basketball, produces and Bob Fishman directs.

Gus Johnson and analyst Greg Anthony will be on hand at Assembly Hall in Champaign, Ill. to handle the call for Ohio State-Illinois. Ross Schneiderman produces and Bryan Lilley directs.

AT THE HALF, CBS Sports’ halftime studio show, hosted by Tracy Wolfson along with Sports Illustrated’s Seth Davis, provides all the day’s news, scores and highlights live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City. Vin DeVito produces and Jim Cornell directs. Harold Bryant is Vice President, Production, CBS Sports.

The CBS golf crew will be at Pebble Beach for the National Pro-Am with the mix of celebrities and golfers on Saturday, then just the pros on Sunday.

Dustin Johnson Looks to Defend 2009 Title Against Field Highlighted by Former Champions Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Mark O’Meara, Davis Love III and Steve Lowery

CBS Sports travels to the picturesque Monterey Peninsula to cover the AT&T PEBBLE BEACH NATIONAL PRO-AM, contested at the world renowned Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Club and Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, Calif.  CBS Sports broadcasts the third and final-rounds live on Saturday, Feb. 13 (3:00-6:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, Feb. 14 (3:00-6:30 PM, ET). Jim Nantz, now in his 25th year covering golf at CBS, serves as anchor of CBS Sports’ golf coverage.  Sir Nick Faldo, winner of six majors and more than 40 tournaments worldwide, serves as lead analyst alongside Nantz in the 18th tower. Ian Baker-Finch mans the 17^th; Gary McCord the 16^th; and David Feherty and Peter Kostis round out the Network’s golf announce team in Pebble Beach as on-course reporters.

Last year’s champion Dustin Johnson looks to defend his title against a field highlighted by former champions including World Golf No. 3-ranked and three-time champion Phil Mickelson (1998, 2005, 2007), five-time champion Mark O’Meara (1985, 1989-90, 1992, 1997), two-time champions Davis Love III (2001, 2003), 2004 champion Vijay Singh and 2008 champion Steve Lowery. Other Top 25-ranked players in the field include No. 5-ranked Jim Furyk, No. 10-ranked Padraig Harrington, No. 15-ranked Sergio Garcia, No. 16-ranked Sean O’Hair, No. 20-ranked Retief Goosen and No. 23-ranked Luke Donald. Among the many others that will vie for the prestigious title include Mike Weir, Rich Beem, John Daly, Brandt Snedeker and David Duval.

rity Pro-Am round on Pebble Beach Golf Course, CBS Sports’ Nantz and Faldo conduct interviews on the 17^th tee with the many celebrity golfers that also make up the Pro-Am field including New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and the Bay Area’s very own Huey Lewis, actors/comedians Bill Murray, Ray Romano and George Lopez, actors Andy Garcia, Chris O’Donnell, Don Cheadle, Josh Duhamel, Oliver Hudson, Rob Morrow, John O’Hurley, Carmine Giovinazzo, women’s soccer star and Olympic gold medalist Brandi Chastain, country music recording artists Vince Gill and Clay Walker, professional surfer Kelly Slater, as well as many others.

CBS SPORTS RACES MONSTER ENGERGY AMA SUPERCROSS ON SUNDAY 

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR presents the MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS on Sunday, Feb. 14 (12:00 Noon-1:00 PM, ET; taped 2/13) from Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif.  Monster Energy AMA Supercross riders will go pink and race for a breast cancer cure as the series makes its final stop in Anaheim. Current points leader, Ryan Dungey has won two races this season and looks to extend his advantage as he joins a field of talented riders racing for a win.  Ralph Sheheen, Jeff Emig and Erin Bates call the action for CBS Sports.  CBS Sports’ John Paquet serves as coordinating producer.
