LE RÉVEIL OLYMPIQUE – The morning after the highly anticipated first Team Canada men’s hockey game, analyst and former Habs forward Benoit Brunet offers his perspective on the game. Popular Canadian alpine skier Geneviève Simard chats with host Claude Mailhot.

ETALK and FASHIONTELEVISION – Ben Mulroney chats with Grammy® Award-winner Michael Bublé, while Dallas Green talks to Tanya Kim about his Olympic Games’ performances with his solo act City and Colour and band Alexisonfire.

MOD LIVE @ THE BASE – After their performance at B.C. Place Tuesday night, Barenaked Ladies drop by the set to talk about their Olympic Games experience, and Our Lady Peace and the cast of PEAK SEASON hang out at the Garibaldi Lift Co. in Whistler. MuchMusic’s broadcast of the Victory Ceremony concert features Canadian country music artist Paul Brandt.

DIGITAL LOUNGE – Hockey analyst Gino Reda talks Team Canada hockey while Matt Wells continues to interview Canadian medallists.  Canadian artist Feist’s performance at the Victory Ceremony in Whistler is also featured.

And for Day 4 of the coverage, Canadians watched as Alexandre Bilodeau received his gold medal on home soil.

More than 31 million Canadians have experienced Vancouver 2010 through Day 4 on the platforms of Canada’s Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, the Consortium’s updated CUME index indicates today. A total of 26.2 million viewers watched television coverage yesterday, representing 78% of all Canadians. Last night, an average audience of 6.3 million viewers, including 1.4 million Francophones, watched the Victory Ceremony in which Alexandre Bilodeau was presented with Canada’s first gold medal on home soil, peaking at 7.1 million during the playing of O Canada.

Additional Highlights – Television

  • 80% of all people in English Canada and 71% of all Francophones in Quebec experienced the Games on television Monday.
  • Both TSN (1.3 million) and Rogers Sportsnet (1.1 million) exceeded an average audience of one million viewers in prime time.
  • Sportsnet broke a ratings record for the second day in a row with 1.9 million viewers for Jeremy Wotherspoon’s Men’s 500m Long Track Speed Skating race.
  • The Canada/Switzerland Women’s Hockey match was #1 on TSN, with 1.6 million viewers.
  • JEUX OLYMPIQUES AUX HEURES DE GRANDE ÉCOUTE delivered 638,000 viewers for V/CPAC, RDS and RIS, while JEUX OLYMPIQUES EN JOURNÉE was watched by 449,000 viewers.
  • Top event on V/CPAC was Pairs Free Skate with 522,000 viewers, while RDS delivered 540,000 viewers for Men’s Snowboard Cross.

Additional Highlights – Online

  • CTVOlympics.ca and RDSolympiques.ca have surpassed the previous record of page views during
    an Olympic Games. With 48.5 million page views to-date during Vancouver 2010, the sites have surpassed the record of 45 million set at Beijing 2008.
  • Consortium websites are resonating with online audiences as the Games proceed. Day 4 saw the following increases over Day 3:
  • Nearly double the number of on-demand videos being consumed;
  • 81% increase in the number of hours of video consumers watched;
  • 33% increase in time spent watching video per user.
  • Top viewed article and video for the day was Alexandre Bilodeau’s Gold Medal ceremony.
  • Top sports by video: #1 Freestyle Skiing; #2 Snowboarding; #3 Speed Skating; #4 Hockey; #5 Figure Skating (Source: Conviva)
  • Page views generated via smartphones and mobile devices surpassed the one million mark (1,115,461) on Day 4.
