NBA Game Time App Comes to Roku and Vizio

Just to let you know, I’ll be busy with end of the month/start of the new month administrative stuff at work so blogging might be slim. I’ll do my best to keep you up to do date on the latest sports media news. Here’s a press release from NBA.com/Turner Sports regarding its NBA Game Time internet out of town application. It now joins MLB.TV on Roku, the internet streaming service that connects to your HD TV and also is being picked up by Vizio Internet Apps on selected Vizio models. That rocks.

–  Roku Player and VIZIO Internet Apps to Provide Fans with Access to Popular NBA App Throughout Remainder of the 2010 NBA Playoffs –

NEW YORK, May 3, 2010 – NBA Digital today announced the expansion of NBA Game Time – the popular mobile application providing fans with access to NBA scores, highlights and news throughout the entire year – to television with new agreements with VIZIO Inc. and Roku Inc.

During the remainder of the 2010 NBA Playoffs, fans will have access to NBA Game Time through the VIZIO Internet Apps™ platform and on all Roku digital video players.  The new NBA Game Time application, featuring video highlights of every game, real-time access to game summaries, complete player statistics, access to news, and more, will be accessible on VIZIO Internet Apps through the widget gallery and on Roku via the Roku Channel Store to fans for free.  

In addition to the VIZIO Internet Apps platform and Roku digital video players, NBA Game Time on mobile is available for $2.99 during the playoffs on the Android Marketplace, App Store, and Blackberry App World.  Fans have access to video highlights, game recaps, live game audio broadcasts of every team, real time game alerts, daily news updates and weekly video features.  Additionally, an NBA Game Time Lite version across all mobile platforms and featuring game scores, stats and NBA TV highlights is available for free.  

Since launching NBA Game Time in April 2009, NBA mobile applications have been downloaded more than 1.7 million times.

I know one of my Tweeps who has Roku for MLB.TV and she loves it. I’m sure NBA fans who have Roku will like Game Time.
