After huddling for hours with Reich, who wasn’t made available for this story, Manning hits the practice field. There’s timing to sharpen with rookie tight end Brody Eldridge, a young receivers corps and Anthony Gonzalez, the team’s 2007 first-round draft pick who missed virtually all of ’09 with a knee injury.

“I’ve had another good offseason with Gonzalez, now that he’s back, and I want to build on what we started last offseason,” Manning said. “Getting the timing down with all these new receivers, guys who were here last year and guys who this is their first year.

“The more I can get on the same page with them, the better chance we have at success.”
