Former UConn defensive end Lindsey Witten was hoping for a shot in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers but that dream came to an end on Wednesday as he was released by the club.
Witten was one of three players released by the Steelers to make room on their roster for two of their draft picks and the free agent signing of Flozell Adams.
The good news though for Witten is that he’s been added to the roster of the UFL’s Hartford Colonials according to Desmond Conner of the Hartford Courant. Connor reports that Witten will report for training camp on August 16th.
Witten will join former Huskies Dahna Deleston, Andre Dixon, Keith Gray, Mike Hicks and Danny Lansanah on the Colonials roster.
