A number of former and current offensive lineman who played under Mudd gathered for speeches and gave the coach a number of gifts as going-away presents.
“We had a nice tribute to Howard and it all went well and I think he enjoyed it,” said Manning of the tribute.
It was good enough to bring the tough-minded Mudd to tears.
“Peyton and Jeff (Saturday) were sitting together and they said ‘We want to make you cry’-and they did,” said Mudd of the tribute.
