Lightly padded

This article actually gave me a shiver.  Colts players aren’t wearing many pads out there.

During the game,” the veteran linebacker and defensive captain said, “I don’t wear anything.”

Well, that’s not exactly true.

“Helmet, shoulder pads and cleats,” Brackett said, revising his protective attire for game day that includes a fitted mouthpiece to lessen the risk of a concussion. “It’s just a personal preference and I’m comfortable that way.

“It’s a speed game and if you can get that one second faster, it will help you out. We’ll wear as little as we have to.”
