Edsall Makes Changes On UConn Depth Chart

UConn Huskies FootballWhile UConn Huskies head coach Randy Edsall hasn’t changed his starter at QB1 as of now, he has made some changes to the depth chart for this week’s contest against Buffalo.

Edsall had said changes were coming on Sunday and also again today during the Big East coaches teleconference.

Cody Endres comes off of his suspension and is listed as a co-backup with Mike Box to Zach Frazer. Erik Kuraczea, who was also suspended with Endres, is back on the depth as the backup to Mathieu Oliver at left guard. Jerome Junior has regained the starting strong safety position and Kendall Reyes moves into the starting defensive end as does Shamar Stephen into one of the starting defensive tackles.

As we learned during today’s Big East teleconference, Taylor Mack is the punt returner with Leon Kinnard as his backup.

Don’t read into this too much but Scott Lutrus is still listed atop the depth chart at the Husky linebacker position with Jory Johnson as his backup. We’ll know more about the status of Lutrus when Thursday’s Big East injury report comes out.

Take these changes with a grain of salt folks. As Edsall promised, things could change during this week of practice. Someone could have a good week and move themselves into a starting role or vice versa.
