Blidi Wreh-WIlson, Jordan Todman Honored By Big East

UConn cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson returns an interception for a fourth-quarter touchdown Saturday against Vanderbilt at Rentschler Field.

The Big East weekly football awards are out and we find two members of the UConn Huskies football team being honored.

First up, cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week.

Wreh-Wilson had a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown and 24-yard fumble return on the first play from scrimmage in UConn’s 40-21 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday afternoon. This was the second straight game that Wreh-Wilson had an INT return for a touchdown. He also added five tackles.

And for the third time in four weeks, running back Jordan Todman was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll.

In the win over Vanderbilt, Todman carried the ball a career-high 37 times finishing with 190 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s a short week for the Huskies as they’ll head to New Brunswick, NJ to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.
