UConn Huskies head football coach Randy Edsall has released his depth chart for the upcoming game against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Friday night and most of the changes reflect the current injury situations.
With running back Robbie Frey out for the next 2-3 weeks, Martin Hyppolite moves up to the No. 2 running back spot which makes you believe that D.J. Shoemate is in Edsall’s doghouse. And another change we saw on Saturday due to Frey’s injury is that Nick Williams takes over Frey’s spot on kickoff returns.
Mike Ryan moves into the starting left tackle position while redshirt freshman Kevin Friend is the starting right tackle.Redshirt freshman Stephen Brown is listed as the backup to Friend at right tackle.
No changes at the QB1 or QB2 position and the same can be said for placekicking duties. Despite handling the kicking duties on Saturday, Dave Teggart is still in an “OR” situation with Chad Christen.
One small change is that Cole Wagner is now listed in an “OR” situation with Chad Christen for the punting duties.
