ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports on Twitter that the Colts have reacquired rookie running back Javarris James from the Washington Redskins practice squad. This comes just days after James was cut by the Patriots and picked up by Washington. To make room for James, the Colts released recently-signed veteran linebacker Tyjuan Hagler.
This is a surprising move, given that the Colts defense has been crushed by injuries. It is also a potentially bad sign for the health of Colts running back Donald Brown. Brown missed last week’s game in Jacksonville and although Devin Moore filled a hybrid role as a backup rusher, he was primarily used as the Colts kick returner. We will provide further updates as they become available.
