  • A soild road win – The Buckeyes have played on the road twice, losing by an average score of 22-21.  At home, they win 47-11.  That doesn’t bode well for the upcoming Iowa game, so let’s prove we can dominate away from the Shoe.
  • Turn Pryor loose – Since the injury, he’s been held in check with his legs and it has improved his passing game.  He can throw in the pocket much better now.  Let him have a few more designed run plays and fully develop his whole game.
  • A shutout – In 2009 after we lost to Purdue, we only allowed 14 total points over the next three games combined.  Let’s see this team dominate even more than last year’s squad after the loss…and we know just how badass 2009 was after the loss.
  • Evil Tressel – You dont need to be evil to win this game.  But you need the style points and you want to scare the bejeezus out of Penn State.  Go ahead and do that.

  • A Purdue-like final – Forget about payback or other motivations like that.  Let’s have a similar showing just because we can.
  • Control of the line – Time for Pryor all day, and pressure on Webber all day.
  • No injuries – Let’s make it through without any losses.

  • Webber Grilled In the “new scheme”, the Gophers are throwing the ball around a ton. Given our secondary injuries, we can’t afford to give him time- especially with Da’Jon McKnight running routes. Let’s get pressure on them early and often from our front four/five/six.
  • Pryor Efforts- I know he doesn’t need to run, but TP2’s ability to be another factor on the ground makes defenses very vanilla. I’d love to see a couple of runs/glides early on to keep Minnesota’s safeties honest.
  • Mo, Town Philly- If Corey’s our number three, let’s make people respect him. He’s got the tools; it’d be great to see why Pryor called him “the Truth”.
  • Hands of Stone- In a good way; it’s time to get Stoneburner involved in our offense again.
  • Fulback Dive- We haven’t handed the ball to our lead blockers in forever, why not now?
  • No False Starts– I’m thinking it will be pretty quiet in the new stadium, so there’s no excuse for not hearing and knowing the snap count.
  • No Bino- Sorry, I think that keeping #6’s redshirt intact will help the Buckeyes long term. I trust the coaches, but think we can figure something out.
  • Down Goes Sparty- Yeah…

  • The Buckeyes take control early – This is a 1-7 Minny team.  You think they don’t believe they’re in a position to pull a Purdue Harbor?  Remember Purdue was 1-5 before they caught us off guard (though they were a very good 1-5, losing most contests by less than 7).  Taking control early shuts down any early Minnesota confidence.
  • Three passes to the Stoneburner – Now that he’s back and has a game under his belt, lets see us go to him some more.  We hit him once against Purdue, I’d love to see us hit him some more.
  • An increased role for Philly Brown – After seeing him play – and talking to him after the game – I’m more and more excited to see this future Freshman star hit the field.  The more touches we give him the better he’s going to be when we actually need him.
  • A 100 yard rushing day for Herron – I wasn’t big on this in earlier games, because I recognized that the coaches were letting Pryor win games and were spreading the ball out amongst all the options at tailback.  However, this late in the season, I see no reason why we shouldn’t simply let Herron destroy defenses at will and use the solid passing game to supplement his tough running.
