Kudos all around...

Jeff

  • A solid road win –Win indeed!!
  • Turn Pryor loose – Interestingly enough, he only had a couple of opportunities to run, but made the most of these for an eleven yard per carry average.
  • A shutout – Dang it… although, after our safeties got worked early on, the Silver Bullets rose up and accounted for several scores on their own.
  • Evil Tressel – I think 52 points are enough to make Big T1e1n opponents a bit nervous…

  • A Purdue-like final – Even the guys at Daily Gopher said it was only a “game” for one series.  Well done.
  • Control of the line – Webber felt the heat all evening (Hello. My name is Brian. You’ll be seeing a lot of me.), Pryor had time to throw, and Boom had room to win. Success!!

  • No injuries – Couple of “gasp” moments, especially with Rolle and Devone, but for the most part it was a safe game.

Special teams success! Wheee!!

  • Webber Grilled Yup, he never got comfy and the results were predictable.
  • Pryor Efforts- Talked about this already, but TP took what he was given. Be honest, though- he could have had 100 yards rushing if he wanted, right?
  • Mo, Town Philly- Hmmmm- only one reception, but the way the running game was going, it’s no surprise.
  • Hands of Stone- Well, Jake had the same number of receptions as Reid, and fewer yards. Several people have speculated that Fragel is getting more time due to a) Stoney’s injury impacting his ability to drive block and b) our relying more on the running game.  Either way, we need him to get fully healed.
  • Fulback Dive- Nope, and the only INT was Pryor trying to get Zach the ball.
  • No False Starts– Huzzah!
  • No Bino- Double Huzzah, although I was Sweating it when Rolle got dinged. (See what I did there?)
  • Down Goes Sparty- Just like we planned it…

Eric

  • The Buckeyes take control early – Well, not “early”, but early enough.
  • Three passes to the Stoneburner – Nope.
  • An increased role for Philly Brown – Also nope.
  • A 100 yard rushing day for Herron – Boom shakalaka!! Congrats, Daniel, on your first century mark!

114, to be precise

Jim

  • Establish the run game- 263 yards, over 6 per carry. Nice.
  • Go up, stay up- Tress certainly didn’t pull his foot off the gas until the fourth quarter, especially on defense.
  • Cameron Heyward and Nathan Williams disrupting Minnesota’s offense- It was pretty chaotic for the Gophers all day, so I’m calling this a win.
  • Offensive line move people off the ball; Running backs running through huge holes and gaining yards in chunks- Your wish is Browning/Brewster/Adams/Boren/Shugarts’ command…
