I’m not sure the O is really the problem
“I feel we’re 6-5,” Manning said. “You could argue that’s different. Out of sorts? No. Not confident? No. I would not agree with that.
“I feel that I need to play better for us to have a chance offensively to score more points and to win. I need to protect the ball better. I need to find a way to convert third downs and keep us on the field.”
It’s not as if the offense is a dysfunctional mess. After generating 467 yards and four Manning touchdown passes in the 31-28 loss at New England, it had its moments against the Chargers. The Colts opened with a crisp 12-play, 78-yard touchdown drive, then Manning led a five-play, 65-yard scoring drive at the end of the first half.
