Gonzo just wants to stay healthy

We needed him this year.

“The bottom line is the NFL seems like it’s a very short-memory league,” he said. “People ignore the first 24 years of your life when you were never injured. But then if you stay healthy for a full year and have a great season, I’d like to think, yeah it will still be a concern for people, but I don’t think it will be as big of a concern. Not if I stay healthy for 16 games and have an excellent season. It’s such a now league.”

The latest injury didn’t require surgery. Gonzalez said he recovered quickly but understood the Colts needed the roster spot.

“When it first happened, it was really swollen. It was hard to know what was going to happen with it,” he said. “We’ve had so many injuries, the roster was tight. I certainly understood. They did what they had to do.”
