Maya Moore Named Big East Player of the Week

For the second time this season, UConn Huskies women’s basketball senior All-American Maya Moore finds herself being honored as the Big East Player of the Week.

In the Huskies only game of last week, a 79-47 Big East win over the Marquette Golden Eagles, Moore had 31 points, eight rebounds, five blocked shots, four steals and three assists. The 31 points were the most she’s scored all season and it’s the second time scored at least 30 points.

The Huskies will put their 87 game winning streak on the line on Sunday when the travel to Madison Square Garden for the Maggie Dixon Classic. They’ll take on The Ohio State Buckeyes in a game that is scheduled to start at approximately 2:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
