Another day, another honor for UConn Huskies running back Jordan Todman.
Here’s the release from UConn:
STORRS, Conn. – University of Connecticut junior running back Jordan Todman (North Dartmouth, Mass.) was named a Sporting News All-American on Wednesday (Dec. 15), as announced by the Sporting News College Football Editorial Staff. This is Todman’s third All-America honor of the season, as he was named an AP Second Team All-American and a Walter Camp Second Team All-American earlier this month.
Todman was also named the 2010 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and UConn’s Most Valuable Player after leading the Huskies to an 8-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the BIG EAST, claiming a share of the BIG EAST Championship.
Todman finished the regular season ranked second nationally in rushing, averaging 143.1 yards per game. He ran for 1,574 yards and 14 touchdowns, leading the BIG EAST in both categories, and went for at least 100 yards nine times over the season. He had at least one rushing touchdown in eight games and had two games with three rushing touchdowns. Todman ran for a season-high 222 yards on 37 carries in a 30-28 victory over Pittsburgh, went for 190 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-21 win against Vanderbilt and had 175 yards and three TDs in a 38-17 win over Cincinnati.
Following the 2010 regular season, Todman ranks second in the UConn record books with 584 career carries, third with 3,058 career net yards and tied for third with 31 career rushing touchdowns. In the victory against Pittsburgh earlier this year he went over the 1,000 yard mark for the season and became the first ever Husky to rush for 1,000 or more yards in two seasons.
