Breaking News: Ryan Shazier is a Buckeye!

Ohio State welcomes another member of the 2011 recruiting class, as Florida LB Ryan Shazier verballed to them over Florida and LSU earlier this evening.

Shazier had initially committed to the University of Florida, but with Coach Meyer’s departure chose to re-open his recruitment and consider other schools. After visiting Columbus this week with friend and fellow 2011 commit Jeremy Cash, he let folks know that the Gators were no longer on his list. Then tonight, he announced at his graduation party that he would had selected the Buckeyes. He will be enrolling in Spring quarter, and will be a part of Ohio State’s spring practice.

The 6’2″, 210 student athlete is from Plantation HS in Broward County Florida, and has been clocked at 4.4 in the 40. He is ranked by some as the #2 OLB in Florida, and the #12 in the nation. He also held offers from Florida State, Miami, Wisconsin, Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.
