The Colts already have placed on injured reserve or waived-injured six safeties: Bob Sanders, Melvin Bullitt, Jamie Silva, Chip Vaughn, Brandon King and David Caldwell.They played Sunday without six of their top eight defensive backs entering the season: Sanders, Bullitt, Silva, cornerback Kelvin Hayden, who missed the game with a neck injury, and two cornerbacks on injured reserve, Jerraud Powers and third-round draft choice Kevin Thomas.
