San Antonio Spurs’ Da’Sean Butler is back in his hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia to participate in the Bob Huggins Fantasy Camp.
While there, Butler spoke on joining the Spurs, his expectations, and his road back from injury:
Butler on the city of San Antonio:
“San Antonio’s great,” Butler said. “It’s a little similar to here, but at the same time its different. Obviously, I’m accustomed to being here for those four years, but San Antonio’s a great city and there are great people there too as well.”
His expectations:
“The only expectations that I have is to get my opportunity to go out there and play, work hard and get solid minutes maybe – whatever,” Butler said. “Honestly, whatever’s thrown at me I’ll be grateful and take it. It should hopefully be a good year next year with the Spurs and I’m just praying for the best.”
As for the injury which almost derailed his basketball career, Butler said he feels fine, though it’s been a tough process and is staying positive.
Great to see Butler in high spirits, remaining positive, and remaining humble. As I said before, let’s hope there is no NBA lockout so Butler can get back on the court and prove not only to himself, but the rest of the basketball world he is back and belongs in the NBA.
