Report: Jazz were interested in Parker

The whirlwind of trade rumors involving San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker continue this time involving the Utah Jazz.

According to SI.com, the Jazz reportedly offered Devin Harris and their No. 12 pick for Parker but once again the deal died due to the Spurs wanting to add Richard Jefferson in the deal.

With another report mentioning Jefferson in the mix, you got to start wondering if this is more about getting rid of Jefferson’s hefty contract.

In a weak draft, Parker is worth more than just a pick and some toss-in player not at his caliber  – see the reported Portland Trail Blazer deal involving Andre Miller. Also, if any of these reports are true and the Spurs do want to ship Parker off to move up in the draft, Jefferson and his contract is not an appealing piece to take if you are another NBA team looking to deal with San Antonio. His enormous contract, and lackluster play the past two season just make him one unattractive trade chip.

What are your thought Spurs fans on this latest reported deal that fell through?
