San Antonio Spurs forward Da’SeanButler has yet to play in the NBA. He was signed by the Spurs last season but was sent to the Austin Toros to continue to his rehab the horrendous knee injury he sustained in college.
Add the fact the NBA lockout is in full swing and you have his transition into the Spurs’ system facing more delay.
Butler has said in recent interviews he’s ready and his knee is fully healed. Well it seems Butler is right as he’s been playing basketball with other college players and New Orleans Hornets’ Chris Paul.
Butler is currently training with other athletes in the Ignition Athletic Performance Group. Butler took part in a small scrimmage with Paul and others:
Last week, the guys got a chance to play open gym at Xavier University with some Xavier players, and Chris Paul. John Flowers, Da’Sean Butler, Paul Sturgess and Joe Mazzulla all played, while Joe got the chance to match up against Chris Paul.
So how determined is Butler to get his basketball career back on track? Well how about video of Butler doing some full-speed running. It’s safe to say he is putting in the work in the offseason and not letting a lockout slow him down.
