As Project Spurs’ Paul Garcia reported this week, San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green took to Twitter to mention how he might be interested in playing in Greece but didn’t mention which team in Greece offered him a deal.
Well it appears we now know which team it is. According to basketinside.com, Green is in talks with Greek club Olympiakos.
Should Green sign, he would be the second Spurs player to sign a deal to play overseas. The other is Chris Quinn who recently signed with BC Khimki Moscow and that deal was not due to the lockout.
As Green mention, the lure of making good money and getting solid playing time was too great. This would be a smart move for him.
It is unknown if this a a long-term deal or if it is a deal which would allow him to come back to the NBA after the lockout is over.
