Last Thursday San Antonio Spurs legend David Robinson was the commencement speaker for the University of Incarnate Word’s 2011 graduating class.
Robinson gave the new graduates motivating words to use as a guide as they begin their new journey.
“One of the things I want to encourage you in today is to dream big. Nothing changes without audacious goals,” said Robinson, who is completing an MAA in Organizational Development at UIW.
Spurs fans are very familiar with the “Admiral” from the late 80’s through the 90’s and into the beginning of the Tim Duncan era. Robinson racked up many awards during his playing career, but his two NBA championships in 1999, the cities first, and 2003, closed his career.
Today Robinson can still be seen at Spurs games, well at least when the lockout ends. He’s also very active in the community with the school that he founded, the Carver Academy.
