Strength of Card:
Excitement Level: Medium. This is a really strong fight card with some real exciting matchups. The top four matches on the card are pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good (word to L.D.). You have two PRIDE legends battling to be the #1 contender in the light heavyweight division; two legendary strikers, who might be over-the-hill but pretty much guarantee an exciting fight; two former champions battling for the next bantamweight title shot; and two of the top welterweights in the world squaring off.
Who Should Buy This PPV?: Hardcore fans, PRIDE fans.
Projected PPV Buyrate: 300,000
Fight of the Night: Urijah Faber vs Brian Bowles. You could argue for either of the two co-main events to be Fight of the Night also, but chances are those could be quick matches. Faber vs Bowles, however, should be a long battle between two former champs. Plus little guys always put on the best show.
Best Fight on the Undercard: Gleison Tibau vs Rafael dos Anjos. Two BJJ black belts trying to tap each other out. Sounds like fun.
Best Bet (if you are betting man/woman): None. Sorry, but I don’t see any betting lines out of whack here. Save your money.
Win or Go Home: Wanderlei Silva. It’s probably time for The Axe Murderer to hang them up, win or lose: he’s 2-6 in his last eight fights, and has been knocked out in four of them.
