In what could be one of the few remaining games for San Antonio Spurs’ Tiago Splitter with Spanish club Valencia Basket now that the end of the NBA lockout is near, Splitter and Valencia defeated Spanish club Assignia Manresa 75-67.
Splitter notched 15 points, 3 assists, 9 rebounds, and shot 7-10 from the field in 25 minutes to lead Valencia to victory.
The game was tied after the first quarter at 22 and Valencia held a 42-35 edge at halftime. However, the third quarter was 12 minutes Valencia would like to forget. Assignia topped Valencia 26-15 in the third but the fourth was completely dominated by Valencia.
Assignia was held to six points in the final quarter which spelled doom for any chance at an upset win.
Spurs draftee Nando De Colo chipped in with 15 points and 2 assists in 26 minutes for Valencia while Spurs 2011 NBA draftee Adam Hanga scored 9 points, 1 steal, 1 assist, 9 rebounds in 29 minutes for Assignia.
Should Splitter remain with Valencia, their next game will be against Lukoil Academic Sofia.
