The San Antonio Spurs search for a small forward will continue as Grant Hill will sign with the Phoenix Suns to the tune of $6.5 million for 1-year according to Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic.
According to a report yesterday, the Spurs had offered Hill a second year but apparently that was not enough to convince him to sign with San Antonio.
So now all eyes will be on Josh Howard and Vince Carter as likely candidates. Howard stated earlier this week, the Spurs told him they would like for him to be on the team but Howard also stated he would play with whichever team free agent Nene ends up signing with. If true, then this will take the Spurs out of the running for Howard’s services.
As for Carter, he will be waived, thus available for the Spurs. The Spurs have also been looking at Warriors free agent forward Reggie Williams. With Williams, he is a solid scorer but doesn’t bring much to the table defensively.
And if you are keeping score, Caron Butler and now Hill have passed up on joining the team since the Spurs have decided to use their amnesty clause on Richard Jefferson.
What do you have to say Spurs fans? Which available free agent forward would you like to see the team chase or should the Spurs just stick with what they have already, namely Kawhi Leonard and James Anderson?
