Another memorable year in mixed martial arts is in the books, so it’s time for The MMA Manifesto to hand out its coveted year-end awards. First up: Submission of the Year.
An inverted triangle choke is a rare submission that you wouldn’t expect a 205 pound fighter to pull off (so rare you’d actually not expect a fighter from any weight class to pull it off). But that is what underdog Richard Hale pulled off at Bellator 38 in March, choking out Nik Fekete. Submission of the Year? No doubt.
