With national letter of intent day only 48 hours away, the 2012 class is quickly winding down. Our predictions from last week still stand for the most part, but here are a few minor updates:
- OH OL Kyle Dodson was at the basketball game yesterday. Unless he pulls an Aundrey Walker, he will be a Buckeye.
- MD ATH Stefon Diggs visited Columbus and was at the basketball game yesterday. The fact that he even made the trip is an amazing testament to Meyer’s recruiting, but it still seems like an uphill battle (mainly against Florida) to land his signature.
- OH WR Roger Lewis visited Ohio (that’s probably really confusing for the mongoloids up north these days). Grades may be an issue, and he is likely exploring alternatives just in case.
- PA S Demetrious Cox is likely headed to Michigan State. That is the one major change from our earlier predictions.
While things are winding down in 2012, they are just getting started in 2013.
Along with Dodson, 2013 prospects OH QB Malik Zaire, OH QB TraVon Chapmam, OH WR De’Niro Laster, OH OL Evan Lisle, OH OL Lovell Peterson, OH OL Alex Gall, OH DL Donovan Munger, OH DL Jake Butt, OH LB Michael McCray, OH ATH Darron Lee, and OH ATH Jalin Marshall among others were all at the basketball game yesterday.
Remember that Jalin Marshall, the top player from Ohio in the class, will be announcing his college decision tomorrow.
Additionally, OH LB Courtney Love (highlights), OH LB/TE Ben Gedeon(highlights), and OH RB DeVeon Smith (highlights) all received offers.
One of the top players in the country, PA ATH Robert Foster was in Columbus over the weekend for the second time in three weeks, which is a trend we’d love to see continue. Foster is one of the few players comparable to Marshall in terms of playmaking ability.
Foster reminds me of Ted Ginn Jr., others have compared him to Sammy Watkins.
If that all weren’t enough, 2014 OH OL Jimmy Byrne of St. Ignatius has been offered.
