The San Antonio Spurs have announced that they have assigned rookie point guard Cory Joseph to the Austin Toros of the NBA D-League.
Joseph played in 25 games for the Spurs (1.8 points, 1.2 assists in 8 minutes) and has already spent time in Austin with the Toros for four games from January 4-11.
In those games, Joseph averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 32 minutes of action.
Joseph is in action right now as the Toros are currently playing the Texas Legends.
Moving Joseph to the Toros can mean one thing, injured guard Manu Ginobili will most likely be returning to the Spurs Sunday, as the Spurs host the Denver Nuggets.
The Spurs are finally getting to the point of full strength and rotations will be most important as the team prepares to get their squad ready for the second half of the season and the crucial stretch run in April. With Joseph in Austin, the Spurs will have Tony Parker, Ginobili, Gary Neal, T.J. Ford, and James Anderson as the battalion of guards going forth.
