Last Friday marked the UFC’s second live fight card on the FX Network, and they’ve apparently added some fans since their first appearance. UFC on FX: Alves vs Kampmann drew 1.43 million viewers on average, making it the ninth most-watched cable show for the night. UFC on FX: Guillard vs Miller got 1.3 million viewers in January, so slowly and surely the UFC seems to growing their audience. And more people watched the UFC fights than ESPN’s late NBA game on Friday, an impressive feat for the sport of MMA.
The event’s preliminary card shown on FUEL TV averaged 113,000 viewers, down from the 148,000 that watched the UFC on FX: Guillard vs Miller prelims on the same network.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s Strikeforce: Tate vs Rousey got 431,000 viewers on average, which is up from the 344,000 on average that watched Strikeforce’s first Showtime appearance of 2012, Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Jardine. However, it is less than the 521,000 average viewers the promotion got in 2011.
